Kent Valentine
Straight from Newcastle - though that's Newcastle, Australia - Kent Valentine delivered a genuine and thoroughly entertaining show in this intimate space at the back of the Royal Albion Hotel. His easy going approach was a definite hit with the audience, and I found myself shaking with laughter at his hilarious anecdotes about making napalm in his parents' basement with a reckless school friend, and pushing an empty pram through central London pretending there was a baby inside. Endearing and charming, Valentine engaged with his audience on myriad levels, and produced the kind of committed and polished performance that is rarely seen at this level. Definitely one to watch - the show, as Valentine would put it, was 'fagatronic'.
