dance/physical theatre review
Orbit
Laurie Booth
The merging of dance with narration and photography with technology made 'Orbit' a truly unforgettable experience. The fascinating movements incorporated into this solo dance performance gave renowned choreographer Laurie Booth the opportunity to display the rigorous control he has over his body. In his attempt to communicate with the enthralled crowd through dance, this incredibly skilled practitioner hopes to evoke a multitude of divergent feelings within his audience, allowing them to interpret the words and movements in a way that is individual to them. Although the routine started to feel repetitive towards the end of the performance, Booth's enthusiasm and concentration made it easy to get lost in the piece.
